Brisbois tosses complete game victory against Rochester as Dukes win SPAMtown title
JUNE 26, 2011 - AUSTIN, Minn. - Jeff Brisbois scattered 10 hits and three walks in a seven-inning complete game win as Dundas topped the Rochester Royals 5-3 in Sunday's title game in the SPAMtown Challenge. The Dukes defeated host Austin 6-4 in the semifinal round earlier in the day.
The Dukes (21-4, 7-0 CCVL) had a two-hit, three RBI afternoon from Todd Mathison in the win over the Royals. Rochester was led by Buzz Hanahan's 4-for-4 effort.
In the semifinal win over Austin, Dereck Salisbury went 3-for-4 with three RBIs for Dundas, which built a 6-1 lead. Austin got within two, but Pete Loizzo worked out of a seventh-inning jam to get his second save in as many days.
Loizzo spelled Dukes starter J.J. Leiviska, who allowed four runs on four hits in his six-plus innings of work.
Rich Bordas and Tyler Jones each had two hits for the Dukes in the win over Austin.
