Lyon's Pub slips by Dukes, 3-2
June 13, 2011 - DUNDAS, Minn. - The Lyon's Pub Warriors slipped by Dundas, 3-2, in a non-league amateur baseball game on Monday night at Memorial Park.
The game coincided with the Dukes' first annual 5K run, which was won by Dukes relief pitcher Pete Loizzo. Loizzo was the only player to run in the event, which took place on a 500-meter course that circled the outside of the baseball park. Loizzo entered the game in the ninth as a pinch hitter.
The Dukes (15-2) had only four hits in the loss, including two by leadoff man Carson Jones (2-for-3).
The Warriors (8-4) were paced by pitcher Tim Mettert, who threw all nine innings, striking out five in the victory.
Dundas hosts two more non-league games later this week - Savage on Wednesday and Elko on Friday.
