Eighth inning rally gets Dukes win No. 30
JULY 19, 2010 - DUNDAS, Minn. - Rich Bordas' RBI-double and Robin Moore's infield single drove in the game-tying and go-ahead runs in the eighth inning as the Dukes reached 30 wins with a 5-4 victory over the East Side Merchants on Monday night at Memorial Park.
Bordas and Moore each went 2-for-4 and Sam Maus 2-for-2 as Dundas (30-8) rebounded from Sunday's one-run CCVL loss to Miesville with its fifth straight non-league win and the 12th in the last 13. The Dukes, now 21-4 at Memorial Park this season, are now 5-2 in one-run games.
Dundas starter Jeremiah Leiviska threw a solid seven innings, allowing two earned runs. He struck out seven while walking two. Mike Ludwig and Todd Mathison, who paraded around to play all nine positions in the game, worked the eighth and ninth innings to get the win and save.
J.C. Burrell went 2-for-3 and drove in a run for the Merchants (8-22).
The Dukes host the Owatonna Aces on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.
