Moore, Leiviska lead the way as Dukes post 9-3 win over Hastings
MAY 19, 2010 - HASTINGS, Minn. - Robin Moore went 5-for-5 while reliever Jeremiah Leiviska tossed 3 1/3 innings of near perfect relief as Dundas posted a 9-3 Classic Cannon Valley League victory over host Hastings on Wednesday night.
Hastings jumped ahead on a three-run double by Steve Kraashaur in the first inning off Dundas starter Jeff Brisbois, who allowed five hits in the first two innings.
Brisbois then settled down for another two-plus innings and gave way to Leiviska, who allowed only a walk while striking out two in his outing.
The Dukes struck for a single run in the fourth on Josh Maus' run-scoring single, then poured on eight runs in their final four at bats to gain the lead and the victory.
Maus finished the day 3-for-5 as did Brandon Rolloff. Rich Bordas and Mike Ludwig added a pair of hits and RBIs each in the win, the team's first in league play (6-2, 1-2 CCVL).
The Hawks were led by Jordy Horsh, who went 2-for-4.
Dundas returns home on Friday for a non-league game with the Minneapolis Angels at 7:30 p.m. on Beef O' Brady's jersey night. The Dukes play at Hampton on Sunday in another league contest.
